Information
Venice, at the instance of m. Gioanni Giolitto da Trino, 1536 (In Vineggia, for m. Bernardino Stagnino, 1536). In 4°. Woodcut portrait of Dante on the title, full-page woodcut illustration at the beginning of the first Canticle, numerous smaller woodcuts for each canto, initials, printer's mark at the end, marginal halos, contemporary loose parchment binding.
Specialist Notes
Good sixteenth-century edition, reprint of the 1512 Stagnino edition with the same woodcuts, which were based on the 1491 Venetian edition by Benalius and Capcasa. Mambelli, 29.
