[Venice, Guglielmo Anima Mia, 1488]. In 2°. 185 cards (of 186). On a1v paper dedication to Lodovico Sforza, large woodcut initial on black background on recto of a2 paper, reinforcement on the first browned paper, stains and water stains, several browned papers, woodworm hole running along the text for about 80 cards, the last white paper missing, modern binding in half brown leather. Old ownership note on recto of first paper.

Specialist Notes

Rare second edition of the Latin dictionary of Nestor, a Franciscan from Novara. Definitions of words are listed in the right margin, etymology and one or more examples are given in the main text, authors' names are listed in the left margin. The first edition was printed by Leonardus Pachel and Uldericus Scinzenzeler in Milan in 1483). The Vocabularius became so popular that by 1507, 8 editions had been printed.
