Dimitar Berbatov is a former Bulgarian footballer born on 30 January 1981 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. He was known for his elegance on the pitch, impeccable ball control and ability to score spectacular goals.
Berbatov began his professional career in Bulgaria with CSKA Sofia, before moving to Western Europe. He played for several top-flight clubs during his career, including Bayer Leverkusen in Germany and Tottenham Hotspur in England. His time at Tottenham is particularly remembered for his high-level performances and for being the top scorer in the Premier League in the 2010–11 season. In 2008, Dimitar Berbatov joined Manchester United, becoming an important addition to the Red Devils' attack. He won several trophies with Manchester United, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. Berbatov was known for his elegant style of play and his ability to score acrobatic goals.
After leaving Manchester United, Berbatov played for other clubs, including Fulham, Monaco, PAOK Thessaloniki and Kerala Blasters in India. In 2019, he announced his retirement from professional football.
