Provenance

The model
A very rare example. Launched at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show to celebrate 25 years of Porsche Exclusive, the personalization department of the factory, where custom-made Porsches are created for the most demanding customers. Only 250 models produced, the car is based on the 997 Carrera S; the Sport Classic has some technical and stylistic details offered as an option on the 997 version and some unusual details, such as the colours of the bodywork and the components of the passenger compartment. The colour chosen is the sport classic gray, a shade never previously used by the factory, embellished with a double gray strip that runs along the entire bodywork, the rear bumper is 44 mm wider, the roof is double-domed while the front is adorned with a bumper made by the exclusive department with front lip and air intakes with a unique design; on the rear we find a clear reference to the 911 of the past: the duck tail spoiler with a double air intake that hangs over the rear bumper, always custom-made to accommodate the brand new chromed oval tailpipes. A small detail is the chrome plate of the Exclusive department applied only to the right side at the height of the direction indicator; this element is reminiscent of the frieze of the Reutter bodywork, which made the 356 Speedster and which was applied on the 356, only on the right side. The rims are 19-inch with a design inspired by the Fuchs rims, the spokes are painted glossy black, with chromed channel and hubcap bearing the coloured Porsche crest. From a technical point of view the Sport Classic is equipped with the mechanical accessories available for the 997 Carrera: starting with the X51 kit for the engine (with new resonance intake system with six electronically controlled butterflies) thus bringing the power to 408 hp, 23 hp more than the Carrera S, and a maximum torque of 420 Nm at 4,200 rpm. For the braking system, the carbon ceramic brakes of the prestigious Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system have been chosen, the set-up is lowered by 20 mm and is equipped with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), an electronic shock absorber adjustment system which constantly adjusts the damping force for each individual wheel, based on the road conditions and the type of driving. As for the transmission, the Sport Classic is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and mechanical limited-slip rear differential, no automatic transmission is available. For the interiors, materials not previously used by Porsche have been chosen, such as woven leather, an elegant combination of smooth leather and fabric used to cover the central backrest insert of the sports seats and the upholstery of the door panels, as well as the profiles of the seats in light grey. The dashboard, enriched with numerous inserts and additional elements, is finished in leathern "natural espresso", contrasting with the body colour, while the interior sky is gray. For some internal details, aluminum was chosen as the finish: starting from the gear lever with the gear selection ring in brown, the instrument bezels, with the tachometer crossed by two lines of colour matching that of the bodywork. The chromed plate with the indication of the model serial number is applied on the passenger side glove compartment. In 2010, following the philosophy of the Sport Classic, i.e. a particular and almost unique 911, Porsche created the 997 Speedster, with the mechanics, rims and brakes of the Sport Classic. Only 356 cars were built in only two colours, blue and Carrara white; a dozen cars were custom painted to order.
The car
Porsche 997 Sport Classic, chassis no.WP0ZZZ99ZAS794178, from 2010, is one of the last examples of the 997 Sport Classic; number 212. It has only 2,927 km, and has had only one owner, Saottini Auto S.p.A., who sensed the rarity of the car and decided to keep it, a true instant classic, among the cars chosen for the Saottini Collection. The car is to be considered as in mint condition. The car is accompanied by the original leather document holder.
State of the art
Preserved, mint condition.
