David Robert Joseph Beckham (London, 2 May 1975) is a former English footballer, midfielder, president of Inter Miami and co-owner of Salford City. Considered one of the best English midfielders in the history of football as well as one of the best in history, he began his football career in 1992 at the age of 17 with Manchester United, with whom he won a total of twelve trophies: among these included six English championships, a Champions League and an Intercontinental Cup. After moving to Real Madrid, he joined the so-called galácticos, with whom he won a Spanish championship and a Spanish Super Cup. He was later purchased by the US team Los Angeles Galaxy, with whom he won a total of four national titles, in the meantime also wearing the Milan shirt after being loaned out on two occasions. In 2013 he finally moved to Paris Saint-Germain, where he concluded his career by winning a French championship. Wearing his national team's shirt, he is the third player with the most appearances behind Wayne Rooney and Peter Shilton. Among his over one hundred matches played for England he was captain on fifty-nine occasions: fifty-eight matches from 15 November 2000 to 2 July 2006 and the friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on 1 June 2008. David Beckham is also one of the most known and established enough to be considered a true marketing icon.
