Literature

Erling Braut Haaland, (Leeds, 21 July 2000) is a Norwegian footballer, striker for Manchester City and the Norway national team. Currently considered the best center forward in the world, he grew up in the Bryne youth sector, where he made his professional debut, before moving to Molde in 2017, where he played for two seasons. In 2019 he was purchased by Salzburg, with whom he won an Austrian championship (2018-2019) and an Austrian Cup (2018-2019). In 2020 he moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he won a German Cup (2020-2021). Two years later he moved to Manchester City, where he shattered several English football records. On 7 August 2022 he made his debut in the Premier League, where he scored the two goals that allowed him to win the match away to West Ham Utd (0-2). On 27 August, however, he scored his first hat-trick on English soil, effectively contributing to the 4-2 final against Crystal Palace. He repeats himself on 31 August, scoring three of the six goals with which the Citizens beat Nottingham Forest. On 3 September, thanks to the goal scored in the away draw with Aston Villa (1-1),[70] he reached double figures in the league, while at the same time setting the record for the fewest number of matches served (6) . Three days later he made his debut with a brace in the UEFA Champions League, thus helping the team win the first match played against Sevilla 4-0; thanks to this performance, the Norwegian striker becomes the youngest player to score 25 goals in the competition (22 years, 1 month and 16 days). The following 2 October he scored his third hat-trick of the season, this time in the Manchester Derby against Manchester Utd, a match won by the Citizens 6-3. On 15 February he scored his 26th league goal after just 22 games, thus equaling the goalscoring record for a Citiziens player set by Sergio Aguero in the 2014-15 season. The following 14 March he scored five goals in the Manchester City-RB Leipzig match (7-0), becoming the third player to score five goals in a UEFA Champions League match (the thirteenth also counting the European Cup) and the second (after Lionel Messi) to do so in the knockout phase. Four days later he scored three goals in the final 6-0 defeat of Burnley in the FA Cup, reaching six hat-tricks for the season. On 30 April, with the goal scored in the 1-2 victory at Fulham, he reached the league record of 34 goals, equaling former players Andy Cole and Alan Shearer; for the Norwegian it is also the 50th goal of the season. This record was surpassed on the following May 3, during injury time of the twenty-eighth matchday win 3-0 against West Ham Utd; on this occasion, he scored the 2-0 goal. At the end of his first season with the Citizens he won the championship, national cup and Champions League, winning the title of top scorer in both the championship and the Champions League.
