Original cover made by Thole for the novel "The Man Who Folded Himself" by David Gerrold published for the first time in Germany by the Wilhelm Heyne publishing house in 1976, subsequently used as the cover for the novel "The Twelve Cardinal Points" by Ursula K Le Guin published by Editrice Nord in 1979. Among the most famous and recognizable science fiction authors in the world, Karel Thole, of Dutch origins, arrived in Italy in 1958 to replace Kurt Caesar as cover artist of the Urania series, a job that made him immortal.
