Original drawing made by Dudovich for one of his most famous chromolithographs contained in the album "Corso" dedicated to him, published by Verlag von Albert Langen in Munich in 1913/1914. Artwork published in the exhibition catalog "Illustratori: nella collezione Sergio Cereda" on page 17, published by Edizioni Il Pennino in 2018. With the title: "Trial period recognized by the state: It is no wonder that so many engagements break up. They last three whole weeks, until the documents for the marriage are received", this splendid charcoal by the Trieste master is related to the plate XV of the famous "Corso" collection. Thirty plates of marked worldly expressionism, depicting only some of the approximately 110 works made by Dudovich during his collaboration, between 1910 and 1914, with the German satyropolitical magazine "Simplicissimus" of Munich. "Corso" will constitute an essential collection of prestige with lightning-fast scenes of dance, masks, foyers, living rooms, casinos, loves and passions, intrigues and whispers. The experience of Simplicissimus and Corso will be a source of pride for Dudovich, among many others, that of being the second Italian called to collaborate with the Munich team. The female figure on the left is Elisa Bucchi, model and later wife of Marcello Dudovich, her husband's muse for many of his compositions. Signed.
