Between 1960 and 1973, the imaginative architect and designer Carlo Mollino from Turin set the erotic images he shot in Polaroid in the spaces of Villa Zaira, with rooms, carpets and curtains of an essential theatricality. The intention was to evoke an everyday life of which nudity was an essential and unavoidable element. But in spite of their apparent casualness, these images of non-professional models wearing accessories and clothes bought especially for them by Mollino himself, if better observed, are the result of small but significant interventions that better emphasised the many facets of an eroticism that was never idealised.
