Information

Milan, Alessandro Minuziano, 1503. In folio. A full-page woodcut on the verso of the second preliminary sheet with the Virtue supporting 2 coats of arms, one of the Corio, the other of the Ascanio, two other full-page woodcuts depicting the author seated at the desk with a pen in his right hand, a small dog at his feet, at the bottom the two verses of Dolcino «Bernardine tibi Insubres debere fatentur/ non minus ac magno Roma superba Tito» and at the top the mottos «It is beautiful after dying to live again», «Amica veritas» and «Sustine et abstine», and another half-page woodcut with the Virtue supporting the Corio coat of arms at 2F3, some more intense halos on the first leaves, light and sporadic in the rest of the volume. Reinforcement on the inside margin of the paper with the Author at the desk, paper 2E2 partially detached, contemporary binding in full parchment, spine with five raised bands with red morocco insert, gold title and decorations, coloured edges, defect on the external hinge.
