Round, smoothbore barrel with octagonal breech, provided with clutch for the bayonet, remains of 'GP' mark within an ellipse at the base, mark of the Liège test bench and remains of other marks. Bore needs cleaning. 18 mm cal at the nozzle. Lock with plate stamped with a crowned "B". Working mechanism. Wooden full stock (painted in black or bituminized, restorations?) Iron mounts. Counter-plate, trigger guard and butt-plate all marked with a crowned "B". The butt-plate itself also with a dotted screw. Missing ramrod. Socket bayonet (missing ring-nut), 46.5 cm long. According to the owner's notes, the rifle would have been used by the Papal troops.
