Round, rifled barrel with 18 mm cal. at the nozzle and octagonal breech (visible rifling, with encrustations towards the nozzle, the rest is clean), provided with front sight and club guide for the bayonet, with foldaway and adjustable rear sight, remains of various marks including "C", "G" and crowned "D", "MT" mark on the right side. Folding bolt. Backward spring lock with mark of Chatellerault imperial manufacture and "P" mark within shield. Working mechanism. Wooden full stock with round French 1860 stamp on the butt stock and other clearly visible marks on the opposite side. Marked, iron mounts. Butt plate with dotted screw (probably used by the Papal State troops). Iron ramrod. Some signs of use and time. With numbered sabre-bayonet (length: 69.2 cm, the clasping button does not snap when the bayonet is mounted), without scabbard.
