A Genoese-Corsican knife, Mid 18th Century

length 30,8 cm
Single-edged blade with back thinned in the second half and with a slightly reinforced and shortened tip; light fuller on the sides. Spheroid knot of a slightly flattened shape. Brown, horn grip decorated with longitudinal grooves (small missing parts at the material) and provided with small, longitudinal bands made of brass wire binding. Brass cap and ring nut. The features of the knife are similar both to Genoese and Corsican traditions. This interesting item is photographed and described in "Il Coltello Genovese" by A. Buti, page 213, A57.
