A very rare "Garde du Corps" helmet, epoch Duke Charles III, 1849 - 1854

Ducato di Parma e Piacenza
height 35 cm.
High, boiled-leather skull (some damaged parts and abrasions) with angled visor with white metal border and a lily at the ends, stitched leather cover. White metal mounts, the top with grenade chape on a cross-shaped base with brass lilies, large star on the front side with three-lily coat of arms with the motto "DEVS ET DIES" and "C III" under crown (one fixing screw detached but present, needs fixing). Cockade with leather-covered convex scales on rosettes with lily, the back side with stave decorated with two lilies, painted leather cockade (probably restored). Missing cover. Inside label with owner's name 'Voschi Antonio Brigadiere ....' (the last word is not clearly legible).
