Very likely a gift from Venditti (who normally did not produce items of this kind) to King Vittorio Emanuele II. Consisting of two razors and a pair of scissors (the fourth item, probably a penknife, is missing). The scissors have large, richly pierced, carved, and engraved handle with the effigy of the King surmounted by a crown and surrounded by laurel leaves, above the inscription 'V.E. II RE D'ITALIA'; with Savoy coat of arms below, all amidst birds and floral motifs. The base of the blades is signed 'Domenico Venditti,' the back worked with waves. The rear side of the scissors is worked en suite. The two razors have grip scales worked likewise. In the original leather case with gold, black, and red decorations, lined with silk and blue velvet. A set of very high quality.
