dating: i Period (1868-1912) provenance: Japan, In shakudo and shibuichi, mokko-gata, hira-zogan made of gold, silver and copper, shibuichi and shakudo on migaki ground, katakiri-bori, ke-bori, depicting a street scene in front of a gunsmith's store, the back with banner and kite, gimei: Omori Terumitsu. Uchi-gaeshi-mimi (0.4 cm). Excellent work and example of a tsuba of the Meiji period (late 19th/early 20th century). A very fine work reflecting the taste of the time with perfect finishing and signature of a master of the early 19th century.Illustrated and described in Japanese, English and German in 'Tsuba' by Günther Heckmann, H.U.B.
