The classicism of Virgilio Carnisio's images lies in the immediacy and compositional cleanliness of a type of photography that only on closer inspection appears in its refinement. A great connoisseur of Milan, he captures its most characteristic aspects, convinced that documenting means rescuing it from the fate of being forgotten. Deeply convinced of his work, Carnisio does not give in to the temptation of rhetoric, but produces genuine reportages describing corners of the city, famous and not-so-famous taverns, shops, urban glimpses that recall the great lesson of social reportage.
