Smoothbore, round barrel, with octagonal breech, marked "T" within ellipses, "AC" within shell-guard, both marks crowned, bearing the date "1845", numbered, and with other marks, with 15 mm cal. at the nozzle. Tang with clearly visible model inscription. Backward spring lock marked with "G" surmounted by crown under a dot and marked "M.re R.le de St. Etienne". Working mechanism. Stock numbered like the barrel. Iron mounts marked within lozenges. Ramrod. Some slight porosity to the iron parts. The numbering on the barrel and the stock indicate they were used by papal troops.
