Smoothbore, round barrel with brass foresight, numbered octagonal breech, 17.5 mm cal. at the nozzle. Lock converted to percussion, marked "O" under crown. Working mechanism but the second snap tends not to hold the cocking position. Long stock stamped "S" and "LB". Brass mounts stamped "O" under crown. Iron ramrod. Most probably a pistol readapted for use in the gendarmerie of the Papal States.
