The blade features gold decorations at the base (kinatah emas) in lotus style and a "panji penganten“ piercing the gandik. It is long, straight and in very good condition. The rather long and slender shape reminds the keris from Sumatra, especially the ones from Padang and Riau Regions at the center of the island. The greneng (small hooks and spikes on the protruding side of the base) are unusual and not typical Javanese, they remind Sumatra/Malaysian works. In south Sumatra were the most important similarities of Majapahit, the Eastern-Javanese realm that ruled the archipelago for centuries (13th -16th Century). The hilt, also original and dating back to the same period as the blade, is a rare feature. It is crafted in the shape of the ancient Javanese "tunggak semi", symbolizing the "Hidden Durga" with Tantric-Shivaite symbolism. This handle is usual in the earliest krises known to us, and can be found in the Kertolo guardian figures from the eastern Javanese period (14th/15th Centrury), as well as on the temples from Panataran an Sukuh in Java. There are only a few handles of this type conserved worldwide. The old handles of the kris are often simple and understating, the important element being the blade, which was completely hidden by the sarung (scabbard). The scabbard is also very interesting, adapted in Europe to be worn as "Hirschfänger“ (hunting hanger), as it was fashionable in the early 17th century. The Skokloster keris and others show the same feature. The scabbard was professionally reworked in Europe, with attached metal accessories featuring fine ornaments in the baroque or manieristic style; it is provided with two suspension rings.
