Cologne, Heirs Arnold Erben Birckmann, 1572, in 8°. Also includes Testamentum Raymundi Lulli doctissimi et celeberrimi philosophi with its own signature and title page. Loose parchment binding with title written in brown ink on the spine. Printer's device on the title page, woodcut initials and end caps. Handwritten underlining and notes in brown ink in the margin. Testamentum Raymundi Lulli doctissimi et celeberrimi philosophi contains woodcut illustrations and two double plates folded in fascicle 2A. Woodworms, slight damage to the binding, marginal tears, stains and browning.


Specialist Notes

Rare second edition by the same publisher as the first, dated 1563. Attributed to Lull, the work is a treatise that fits into the European alchemical tradition. Palau 143885. Ferguson II, 54. Duveen 370. Caillet 6851.
