Rare first edition of this treatise that contests Machiavelli's political theories. The text, composed of 20 lessons, presents a series of bold challenges launched by the author Gian Lorenzo Lucchesini, a Jesuit scholar (1469-1527) who taught at the Roman College from 1652.
