Very rare original editions by Ghetaldi. During his stay in Paris, Ghetaldi (Ragusa di Dalmatia 1568 – 1626) frequented François Viète (1540 - 1603) who was working on the reconstruction of the lost works of Apollonius, which is why Viète was also known as "Apollonio Gallus". Upon his death, Ghetaldi continued Vieste's work by solving the problems that the books were supposed to contain. The results of his research led to the publication of the three works presented here. It is worth noting that in a letter to Christopher Grienberger, written in September 1604, he says that the three works were ready but that he would wait some time before publishing them. Ghetaldi has been acclaimed by several mathematicians as the father of analytic geometry. See Riccardi I, 594
