Paper manuscript of 54 cc., modern pencil numbering, ancient discontinuous due to lack of some leaves, format in 8°, 195 x 145 mm., datable to the second half of the 18th century, coeval cardboard binding, worn, defects, shortcomings to the back plate. Miscellaneous by several hands.
Specialist Notes
Rare notebook of notes collected and bound together probably by a practitioner of alchemy, among these the following topics are of particular relevance: secret for whitening hyacinths and other precious stones (c.3r); mordant for good and false gold (c.4r); “flos coeli, that is universal medicine” (c.26r-27v) “Universal medicine is nothing more than a vapor that is born, or comes out from the center of the earth and from that universal water, of which the philosophers say everything is generated ….” And finally it reads "do not give the prescription to anyone under penalty of excommunication"; “The Alchemists call gold and other metals = that is, gold is called Sun = silver, moon…” (c.46v); virtue of juniper (c.50r-v).
