Palermo, from Francesco Lao's Printing House, 1839. In 8th, three parts in one volume. Text in two columns, slight defects, contemporary hardcover, covers and spine reproduced on the plates.
The "History of Finance" is considered Bianchini's most important work, conducted on sources and archive data and on the direct knowledge acquired as a public official of the Ministry of Finance, an activity he carried out for over two years . "Bianchini understood the history of finances in a very broad sense, to the point of making it coincide with the history of the Public Administration and of economic facts (…) His ambition was to write an economic - civil history in this sense it is easy to trace the attempt to join the best historiographical tradition from Vico to Giannone" (B.B.I., X, page 209).
