Specialist Notes

Rara editio princeps of the Prose della vulgar lingua by the sixteenth-century grammarian and intellectual scholar Pietro Bembo. This work has definitively conferred literary dignity on the Italian language and has decreed the victory of the Florentine Petrarchesco and Boccaccesco as a model respectively for the works in verse and for those in prose.
