The Continuation is the first new DB5 built by Aston Martin in over 50 years. It contributed to the myth of the model being the car of the most famous secret agent in the world, James Bond. Today, the Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation, created in collaboration with EON, producers of the films, feature a range of special working gadgets, created by the special effects supervisor, and have some modifications to ensure the highest levels of build quality and reliability. The best technicians have worked with selected suppliers from all over the world. We propose here the specimen no. 01 of 25 produced. New and perfect. It is not homologated for road use, but three units are registered in UK.
The gran turismo DB5, produced from 1963 to 1965 in collaboration with Carrozzeria Touring with its Superleggera method, was a significant Aston Martin success. The DB5 Continuation becomes the first new DB5 built by Aston Martin in more than half a century, and the British luxury sports car maker's Continuation program is making history once again. One of the most famous cars in the world and known to be among the most desirable and sought-after classic Aston Martin models, the DB5 is the epitome of timeless style and sportiness. Less than 900 specimens were built between 1963 and 1965. The fact that it was known as the personal car of the most famous secret agent in the world, James Bond aka 007, in various films of the saga, starting with Goldfinger, contributed to its myth. It has been 57 years since the last new DB5 rolled elegantly off the production line at Newport Pagnell. Today, Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation cars are truly history in the making, created in collaboration with EON, producers of the James Bond films and equipped with a wide range of working special gadgets, first seen in the movies; devices created by the film's special effects supervisor, Chris Corbould (OBE). The list of Bond-inspired gadgets includes, on the outside: rear smoke screen dispenser, rear simulated oil dispenser, front and rear (triple) revolving plates, simulated dual front machine guns, rear bullet resistant shield, front and rear “rams”, simulated tire cutter, removable passenger seat roof panel. Interior: simulated radar screen tracer, phone in driver's door, gear knob actuator button, armrest and center console mounted switches, hidden storage/weapons compartment under seat, remote control for gadget activation. The DB5 Goldfinger Continuation has meticulous reproductions of the details of the DB5 seen on screen, including the iconic exterior color specification, Silver Birch, and has several modifications and improvements to ensure the highest levels of build quality and reliability. It has aluminum bodywork on a steel frame construction. The 4.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine has three SU carburettors and oil cooler, and generates around 290 hp, mated to a ZF five-speed manual transmission with limited-slip differential. World-class Aston Martin craftsmen, technicians, engineers, and designers have been involved in the Continuation project, working closely with hand-picked suppliers from around the world and ensuring that the new DB5 corresponds not only to its owner's aspirations, but also to duty to the brand's proud legacy. Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin Lagonda, said: “The DB5 is, without question, the most famous car in the world by virtue of its 50-plus year association with James Bond. To see, the first customer car finished, and realise that this is the first new DB5 we have built in more than half a century, really is quite a moment. It is a genuine privilege, and significant responsibility, to have been involved in the shaping of this new DB5 and to be helping to lead the creation of new versions of this automotive icon.” The DB5 Goldfinger Continuation is not homologated for road use in any country, but three units are registered in UK.
