demi-lune shape, peach mottled marble top, one drawer at the band decorated with gilt bronze concentric motifs and foliate volutes, two panelled drawers, pyramidal legs with gilt bronze sabots resting on sphere, the apron decorated with frieze with lion mask surmounted by vase between volutes probably added (restorations)

Specialist Notes

François Reizell (died 1788), received the title of master in 1764.Of German origin, he settled in Paris, first in Saint-Antoine, rue Traversière, then in rue des Saints-Pères and finally in rue du Petit-Lion-Saint-Germain. His main client was Prince Condé, who commissioned him to furnish the Palais-Bourbon and his châteaux in Chantilly and Villegénis.
