Conditions of Sale
Finarte is pleased to present the Department of African Art, almost 50 years after the first auction organized in Milan in 1972 and dedicated to African Sculptures, then curated by the expert Franco Monti.
The African art market is constantly evolving and meets enthusiasts from all over the world and, in recent years, also in Italy with its main hub in the city of Milan.
The Department has set itself the goal of organizing high-level auctions, presenting works of high quality from all over sub-Saharan Africa. The lots presented in the catalog are described in an informative form, accompanied by detailed cards full of historical and biographical news and information about the works, merchants and collectors who owned them. A careful study that thus certifies the quality of the proposal put in place, thanks also to the collaboration with internationally recognized experts in the sector.
The Department of African Art of Finarte wants to be the reference point of the sector in Italy and an exclusive research center that caters to a global audience of buyers and bidders, from private collectors to museums, creating a long-term growth trend active and dynamic of African art collecting.
Our experts carry out customer consultancy activities, both in the preliminary phase and in the sale phase of the works, guaranteeing a tailor-made service, with attention to every detail through the study and collection of information and documents, in addition to the constant analysis of data and of the main factors influencing this constantly evolving sector in the art world.
The Department of African Art is available for the evaluation of single works or entire collections to be included in upcoming auctions.
