Her career began in the 1980s with roles on television in series such as "Hill Street Blues" and "Magnum, PI". Her real success came in 1992 with Paul Verhoeven's erotic thriller Basic Instinct , where she played the mysterious Catherine Tramell. The film established her as a sex symbol and an internationally renowned actress.
In the following years, she starred in successful films such as “Total Recall” (1990), “Sliver” (1993) and “Casino” (1995), for which she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She became one of the highest paid and most sought-after actresses in Hollywood, demonstrating her versatility in dramatic, comedic and action roles.
