Specialist Notes

First edition. The French economist Charles Dunoyer (Carennac, Lot, 1786 - Paris 1862) considered by the illustrious Italian economist Francesco Ferrara "the most venerable" of the liberal school and "one of the most beautiful glories" of the entire economic school French, he founded with Charles Comte the liberal newspaper Le Censeur supporting a heated struggle against the Restoration in defense of liberalism and industrialism. In his most important work De la liberté du travail he supported free competition by illustrating the industrialist theories of the French liberal school according to which the fundamental purpose of society coincides with every productive activity, precisely industry.
