Frontespizio, "LIste des cartes et planches ", con 28 (di 30) tavole incise finemente in rame e protette da velina, una più volte ripiegata e numerate con numeri romani, fioriture ed aloni di umido, legatura coeva in zigrino, rovinata.

Prima edizione francese del solo volume delle tavole incise da Tardieu, Delignon, Niquet e Delvaux. Esse raffigurano i monasteri, i palazzi, i costumi, le imbarcazioni, le piante, ecc. In una si mostra come catturare gli elefanti selvaggi nelle foreste della Birmania e altre due rappresentano gli indigeni del Mozambico. L'ufficiale e diplomatico britannico Michael Symes (1760-1809), soggiornò 10 mesi in Birmania ed alla fine del suo viaggio firmò un trattato commerciale con i birmani.
