Smoothbore, round barrel (bore needs cleaning), 19 mm cal. at the nozzle, with octagonal breech featuring two different types of numbering, one type stamped, the other (456) hand-marked and (probably) "date "1819", remains of crowned marks. Tang with fixed rear sight. Percussion lock with "SUHL" marking surmounted by crown. Working mechanism. Wooden full stock with minor restorations (mainly filled woodworm holes), solid construction. Brass mounts. Mouthpiece with foresight. Iron butt-plate marked "27J W.R." and "2C 456". Short, non-pertinent ramrod. Numbered socket bayonet "150" (length: 57.2 cm). According to the owner, the hand-engraved numbers on this model would be matriculae marked to be used by Garibaldi's troops.
