dating: about 1860 provenance: France, Micro-rifled, octagonal, 17,2 mm cal. barrels made of fine damask, one without foresight. Bore needs cleaning, visible rifling. Smooth breeches and tang, with fixed rearsight. Backward spring locks signed 'P. BOITARD F.T D'ARMES / A ST. ETIENNE', one with remains of antique browning. Working mechanisms with two snaps. Wooden half stocks with smooth iron mounts. Brass-tipped wooden ramrod. Ring for the strap. For Paul Boitard of St. Etienne (ca. 1860-80) see 'Der Neue Stoeckel' vol. 1 p. 118. length 36,5 cm.
