Specialist Notes

“... Alighiero had a huge quantity of this poster printed. He didn't sell them but he gave them. He donated a poster, not an artwork. He suggested to happy recipients to color the poster. If, after their intervention, Boetti found him beautiful, he gave him the status of the opera (usually by signing it) otherwise a nice poster remained! A poisoned gift! My father advised him to have it colored by their children, but under these conditions they were terrified and did not want to risk entrusting their children with a hypothetical work of art! " (Agata Boetti). “Some posters were given coloring to the children of the Casa del Sole school and then exhibited in the gallery. The choice of time to sell the original poster at Lire 3,000 and that colored by children at Lire 5,000 was significant. ” (Maffei - Picciau).
