Notes: The Daytona 6265 was introduced to the market in 1969, along with its twin reference 6263; they remained in production until the late ‘80s, when Rolex launched its first chronograph with automatic movement, reference 16520. Given the extended period of time in which they were marketed, the 6263 and the 6265 are perhaps the two Daytona models par excellence.
During these twenty years of production, it is estimated that only 2,000 gold pieces were manufactured.
Unlike the corresponding steel models, Rolex marked its gold pieces with the designation “COSC” and inscription “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” on the dial.
Detail of interest and ultimate rarity of the watch offered in this catalogue is the dial personalization for Beyer, the oldest watch boutique in Switzerland with more than 250 years of activity.
