Information

Cover illustrated with a "Positive Negative" by Bruno Munari embellished with an original collage intervention by the artist. Second of the four albums published between 1954 and 1958 by the gallery-bookshop Il Salto in Milan created with the intent to collect and describe the annual activity of the members of the group (with the insert also of subjects of the Groupe Espace, and 'Nuclear'). In addition to writings and theoretical elaborations by Monnet, Giuliani, Dorfles, Erba etc. We find important and suggestive tables by Lucio Fontana (2 with drilling operations), Carolrama (5 lithographs), Reggiani (woodcut table), Dorfles (5 lithographs), Monnet (2 lithographs), Vigevani Jung (6 plates), Bordoni (4 lithographs), Di Salvatore (3 lithographs), Veronesi (1 lithograph), Bozzola (2 lithographs), Varisco (mobile table that depicts the Rai monoscope at the time just made) and many others. This copy, compared with the index published in the bibliography edited by Giorgio Maffei, would seem to lack the invitation to the "Automates di Tinguely" exhibition, which probably was never included. The same source is not pronounced with regard to the print run but reports an affirmation by Gillo Dorfles which indicates in a hundred copies the average print run of these rare and fascinating publications.
