dating: circa 1900 provenance: Borneo, Straight, single-edged blade, with small carving at the back near the weak. Deer-horn hilt with vegetable fibre wire binding, the pommel richly carved and pierced, decorated with remains of coloured horsehair. Beautiful wooden scabbard partially carved with vegetable fibre and metal wire binding. At the back side scabbard complete of a knife (lunggai), decorated with coloured goat hair, fibre suspension ropes and with a copper coin dated 1898. length 64.5 cm.
