dating: 19th Century provenance: Borneo, Fine, straight blade with typical decoration of Sarawak Kajans in using-betung style (with yellow metal inlays but without carvings on the back) with three rows of small rectangles or squares with a brass circle at the center, the back decorated en suite at the first part. Beautiful, carved, deer-horn hilt decorated with red horsehair, the base covered with vegetable fiber wire binding (small missing part). Wooden scabbard with carved, horn mounts, decorated with metal wire bands, colored horsehair and provided with a scabbard for a piso raout. Beautiful suspension rope decorated with colored beads and red fabric (typical for Sarawak). Rare. length 73.5 cm.
