dating: circa 1900 provenance: Borneo, Curved, single-edged blade, strongly enlarged toward the weak, grooved under the back, partially carved and engraved, the back with brass crossbars. Typical, carved, bone hilt, the base with vegetable wire binding, pommel with remains of horsehair. Partially carved wooden scabbard, the back with scabbard decorated with coloured horsehair, complete with a knife with engraved pommel (lunggai) and with suspension ropes. The bands that secure the two scabbards together, restored. Malaysia, West Borneo or Sarawak. length 64 cm.
