Light, Kanshitsu structure, with a matt brown surface, decorated with the three golden leather arrows that start from a small circle at the top and divide the skull into three equal parts, among them three 'Maru-ni-umebachi mon' worked en suite. The interior is lacquered in red and provided with futon and laces. The unusually good quality form, decoration and surface indicates that it was carried by a leader of the Ashigaru Teppo-tai troops. Late Edo period.
