Towel holder (Tenugi kake) made of black lacquered wood with "Chigai-takanoha mon" and "Maru-ni-sasa-rindo mon" in gold. Consisting of seven pieces and kept in its original box with two labels with hand-written kanji. The two mon were used by the Asano family in Hiroshima. This family was one of the most important Samurai ones, and descended from the Minamoto family and from the Emperor Seiwa (850-881). The central line was the one of the Lords (daimyo) of Hiroshima-han in the Aki-no-kuni province. This object was exhibited in the 'Hiroshima' Exhibition in Hawaii and it is considered an important historical object.
