Information
Complete set consisting of seven cards with game instructions (numbered from I to VII and 52 game cards numbered from 1 to 52). The first card marked "Si vende da Gio. Batista e Fratelli Albrizzi S. Benedetto Venezia". 52 game cards with badge marks for military life, each one with engravings. Kept in wooden box (missing base and lid). A beautiful and very interesting military game described by the authors in the first card "Per la nobile Giovent√π desiderosa di seguire Marte per segnalarsi nel Campo della Gloria" ("For the noble Youth eager to follow Mars to distinguish themselves in the Field of Glory".) Probably sold in one of the many companies of the famous Albrizzi family, originally from Bergamo, Italy, which moved to Venice in the 16th century and became part of the patriciate from 1667. Members of the family were employed in politics, power of attorney, art sale and various areas of trade.
