Made of iron, maru-gata, yo-sukashi, with square mimi covered with a shakudo fukurin, ke bori, in-the-round engraving with gold, shakudo, silver and shibuichi hira zogan. The rope supporting the maku is made of silver and copper, shakudo mon. The hitsu-ana are closed with shakudo ategane. The scene depicts a military camp, the command tent is tied to the trunk of an old pine tree, which decorates the entire upper part, featuring a rope represented by the silver thread crossing the tsuba and reaching to the tent moved by the wind with the mon of the commander's clan at the center. In Kiri-box. The maku represents power and reminds of the Bakufu of Kamakura. The Shoami school is one of the oldest ones, in the 17th century became a branch of the Umetada school. The tsuba is definitely a gift: it is too delicate to be mounted, therefore it is not signed and can be dated late 18th century - early 19th century.
