Made of iron, tate-maru-gata, yo-sukashi, with finely engraved details in takabori with gold nunome underlining. The head, body and wings spread in a circle are very clearly visible in the circular figure of the ho-ho. The paulownia leaves and the ferns are well outlined in the lower part. Late Edo period, mid-19th century. Provenance: an antiquarian dealer from Kyoto, 1992.
