Information

height 1 cm
Capeline shaped as a lobster tail with skull consisting of two halves joined at the centre by rivets, with a slightly cusped brim and hemmed margin. At the top a spheroid button set on a shaped base with a radial pattern. Complete with its ancient sliding nose-piece with carved and pierced ends and a wing screw with head shaped as a fleur-de-lis. Plume-holder at the rear side. Missing cheek-pieces. Large nape-guard with four blades and festooned decoration. Various rivets. The breast-plate ribbed at the centre, waistplate with border festooned en suite. Decorated with remains of outlines, with neckline and roped and twisted gussets, like the protrusion. Buttons to mount straps and tassets. Back-plate (slightly longer than the breast-plate, of the same age but probably from a different set) with roped rims. Provided with a large removable culet featuring five articulated plates decorated en suite with breast-plate and nape-guard. The lower rope is twisted. Fine, lobster-tailed knee-cops with shortening, festooned blades. The armour unfortunately is provided with only one brassard, with a wide pauldron, elbow-piece and vanbrace, also decorated with festooned borders. Various rows of rivets, sometimes arranged in rosettes on the various elements. In antique patina, untouched condition. Mannequin not included. It is very difficult to find such a coeval ensemble in these conditions.
