Rare kikko- tatami- gusoku with hexagonal, iron plates with silver mottling, fine kote with iron plates and iron mail, iron mail haidate covered with fabric and embossed leather, beautiful, iron-mail and-plate suneate with silver mottling and woven fabric inside. (Suneate in very good condition). The light tatami-type armours came into use in the feudal period, and they were used by both footed soldiers (ashigaru) and samurai. This rare example of kikko-type (featuring hexagonal plates) armour decorated with silver mottling (probably Momoyama period) certainly belonged to a Samurai. Armours of this kind and quality are very rare today.
