Thin, rifled barrel with foresight, adjustable and foldaway rear sight (inside clean bore, visible rifling), two-line marking with address and patents to 1887. Marking "44 Cal." on the side. Frame with saddle ring. Working mechanism. Matr. "762xx". Blueing (earlier?) with evident defects, apparently the surface is however still smooth and without serious porosity. Wooden butt and fore-end, both smooth. Saddle ring. Uncommon lightened model known as 'Baby Carbine' with thin barrel. Weight 2.49 kg (approx. 5.29 lbs).
