Straight, tipped, single-and short false-edged blade, with double fuller at the weak and a wide single fuller for the rest of the length. Engraved with floral motifs and trophies in the first half, also featuring on the right side the papal emblem of Pius IX, surrounded by the mottoes "VIVA L'ITALIA / VIVA PIO IX", at the bottom the signature "A. & E. Höller / in Solingen". The back engraved with racemes. Hilt in the typical Savoy style, made of brass with guard with large ring. Silver-plated foil grip like the wire binding. Iron scabbard with two lugs and brass bands.
