dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Papal States, Wide two-edged blade with central fuller with rare motto 'VIVA LA REPUBBLICA' and on the other side 'ROMA INTANGIBLE.' One-piece bronze hilt with straight-quillon guard featuring oak leaves and acorns in bas-relief, twisted grip and pommel decorated with leaves. Complete with leather scabbard with bronze mounts, cap with loop, chape with palmette. length 63.4 cm.
